In March of 2001, the future of WCW was a mystery. It was heavily rumored that Vince McMahon was on the verge of purchasing the company, however that was only a rumor. Eric Bischoff purchased all of the rights to World Championship Wrestling and announced that WCW would be taking a hiatus to find a new network for WCW Monday Nitro and to also do some restructuring within the company itself. In May of 2001, after a two month hiatus, Eric Bischoff announced to the world that WCW Monday Nitro had found a new network and will once again be a prime time wrestling show on Monday's at 8PM. The new network was none other than the former home of the World Wrestling Federation, the USA Network. This new WCW Monday Nitro will return on May 7th, 2001, the night after the new WCW holds it's first pay per view event WCW The Big Bang. Every championship has been vacated since the final Nitro that aired on TNT in March. The following promotional poster was released advertising the event. Big Bang will be results only. Nitro will be my first typed show.

Thanks. I planned to keep the TNA one going for a while but when I lost everything, I didn't feel like redoing it all again. This one will for sure be on here a while as I have a lot of ideas for it

I'd love to see some WWF traitors in it as well, that'd be pretty cool. Maybe even in some sort of Outsiders stable, I 'unno. It'd be kinda cool, I guess.

I have an idea to bring someone back right now from the WWF to feud with Lance Storm that I'm really looking forward to doing. Also, there will be a familiar face or two that in 2001, wasn't known at all.

Both guys brought their best and everyone thought Kash nearly had the win after a middle rope brainbuster but Helms was able to kick out. Helms was in the middle of a comeback when his former best friend, Shannon Moore tried to get involved in the match, however he inadvertently cost Kash the match after Kash shoved him off the side of the ring but then turned into Superkick followed by the Vertebreaker for the win.
Helms celebrated with the title but was attacked by Moore while celebrating, but Moore was attacked by the recovering Kid Kash who laid him out with the Money Maker. Kash handed the Cruiserweight title to Helms before leaving the ring.
After a brief video package, the next match up was the Bobby Heenan Invitational match. This was a great match that showcased the 5 young talents in it. Low Ki nearly had the win with his Dragon Clutch submission hold on AJ Styles but it was broken up by Joe Seanoa. The two exchanged some hard kicks before CM Punk nailed a diving cross body on both of them. Punk looked to be on his way to victory when he nailed the Shining Wizard on Styles but Danielson came in and nailed Punk with a huge Dragon Suplex that almost got the three. Punk quickly fought back against Danielson and nailed the Shining Wizard and then dove on the outside of the ring onto Low Ki. Back in the ring, Joe came in and nailed the Island Driver on Danielson and went for the cover but it was broken up by Styles. Punk came back in but was sent back outside with a huge dropkick from Styles, however Styles was grabbed from behind by Joe and locked in a rear naked choke that signaled the end and Styles had to tap out.
Bobby Heenan got in the ring and congratulated Joe Seanoa on the win and they left together
Mean Gene interviewed Lance Storm about defending his WCW Title against Sting in the main event. Storm said he respects Sting, but he isn't taking the title away from him.
Up next was the United States title match between Curt Hennig and Kanyon. Kanyon tried using all of his cheating ways to win, but none of them would work. Kanyon tried getting himself DQ'd by using the belt but Hennig ducked the attempted title shot and then nailed Kanyon with the Hennig Plex for the win.
Mean Gene interviewed Bobby Heenan and Joe Seanoa. Heenan did all of the talking and said he's taking this man to the top of WCW, but first he needs to rename this man. He said from now on, he will be known as Samoa Joe. Heenan said Samoa Joe is the next big thing in WCW, and in all of professional wrestling.
Up next was Booker T taking on Shane Douglas in a grudge match. This was a very physical, hard hitting bout between the two rivals. Booker tried for an early Axe Kick but Douglas had it well scouted. Douglas tried rolling Booker up and using the tights but the referee caught him and stopped the count. Douglas argues with the ref which led to Booker trying for a side kick that accidentally hit the referee. Booker checked on the referee and when he turned around, Douglas blasted him in the head with a chain wrapped around his fist. Douglas hid the chain in his tights as the referee came conscious to see him pinning Booker and counted the three.

Another anonymous video aired, but again didn't say who. It ended with "They are coming..."
The Tag Team Titles were up for grabs next as Kronik defended against Vampiro and The Great Muta. Kronik used their power to dominate early on, but Muta and Vampiro fought back and eventually got the quick, shocking win over Kronik as Vampiro nailed a spinning kick to the jaw of Brian Clark and then tagged in Muta who nailed a huge top rope splash for the three. Muta and Vampiro celebrated with the titles and left the ringside area.
Kronik stood in the ring for a minute and then Brian Adams blasted Brian Clark in the side of the head with a nasty boot before leaving the ring
Mean Gene tried to get an interview with Adams as he walked up the entrance ramp but Adams just blew past Gene and didn't say a word
It was now main event time and after a video package, the match began. Both guys looked great and brought their very best to the match. There were many near falls through out the match from both guys, and either one looked to almost have it won at any moment. Storm missed a Super Kick and got locked in the Scorpion Death Lock but was able to reach the ropes to break it. Storm came back and locked Sting in the Canadian Maple Leaf but Sting was able to get a rope break. Sting fought back and nailed the Scorpion Death Drop on Storm. Sting started to go for the pin until Jeff Jarrett hopped the guard rail with a guitar and entered the ring but Sting stopped him with a kick to the gut and he dropped the guitar. Sting fought Jarrett off and knocked him out of the ring. The referee left the ring to force Jarrett away, meanwhile in the ring when Sting turned around, he was blasted with the guitar from Lance Storm! Storm quickly got rid of the evidence in the ring as the referee turned to come back. Storm went for the pin on Sting as the referee came back in but Sting kicked out! Storm looked shocked, but as Sting got to his feet, he blasted Sting with a brutal Super Kick to the head and quickly covered him for the three.
The referee handed the belt to Storm as Jarrett, Steiner, and Douglas came to the ring to celebrate with him. They all laughed as Sting laid unconscious in the ring and Unleashed came to and end

Great read man, I'm loving it. Reckon you'd bring in Hayabusa to team with Mutah, perhaps? I mean, I don't think Hayabusa had his accident until 2001, so it'd work.

I always enjoyed the teaming of Vamp and Muta in WCW. Been trying to think of a catchy team name as I don't wanna use Dark Carnival since I'm not using ICP and that's what they all went by as a group. I'm considerig throwing Daffney in as their manager too
