WWE Smackdown! Friday, March 23rd.
A re-cap of last week is shown, then the video feed switches to the opening Smackdown! vignette.
Opening Match Tag Team MatchWorld's Greatest Tag Team vs The Usos The show kicks off with the return of The Worlds Greatest Tag Team. The crowd goes nuts when their music hits the PA. Their return performance was incredible. Lots of double team maneuvers throughout, and they dominated most of the match. The Usos tried to retaliate, but they were no match for Haas & Benjamin. Shelton picked up the 3 after a T-Bone Suplex to Jey Uso. After the opening match, Wade Barrett heads to the ring.Last week Chris Jericho passed the test. He managed to defeat William Regal, and I give him props for that. But tonight he faces me, the top Superstar on the roster. And if he thinks he's going to take away my Number One Contender spot, he's dead wrong. Chris, when are you going to realize it's time to hang up your boots and call it a day? You're nothing but a washed up has been who is way past his prime. Just give up on trying to hog the spotlight. You used to be a great competitor, but you were never Wade Barrett quality. I'm the next big thing in this company, and i'll prove that to everyone watching tonight. Good luck, Jericho...you'll need it.Match 2 Hardcore Championship MatchMark Henry vs Jack Swagger Henry once again demolished his competition. In his first match as the Hardcore Champion, he proved exactly why he is the champ. Swagger's eyes got huge when he saw Mark coming to the ring with a shopping cart full of weapons. There was trash cans, kendo sticks, chairs, you name it and it was probably in there. Jack went for a Baseball Slide to the outside, but Henry dodged it and smacked him in the head with a steel chair, almost knocking Swagger unconscious. He proceeded to beat Swagger down with whatever weapon he could get his hands on. The World's Strongest Man lifted Swagger up, and dropped him face first onto the barricade. Swagger was being knocked around like a rag doll, and the ref tried to help, but Henry just ignored him and dropped Swagger with the World's Strongest Slam onto the steel steps. Mark retained his title, and the EMT's came ringside to take Swagger out on a stretcher. Match 3 Singles MatchSin Cara vs Tyson Kidd The lights dimmed and the match began. Both of these quick competitors made for an exciting match. Sin Cara started the match off with a lot of quick maneuvers and a Double Wraparound Headscissors. He headed to the apron and went for a Springboard Crossbody, but Kidd Dropkicked him in mid-air. Tyson Kidd with a few of stiff kicks to the back, and a Front Dropkick. He worked him on the ground for a bit and connected with a Snap Suplex. Kidd picks Cara up and goes for another Suplex, but Sin Cara lands on his feet. He runs and jumps off the ropes and springboards into a Tornado DDT. Cara takes the upper hand and finally sets up for his finisher from the top rope. Kidd pushes him off and nails a Senton Splash. Goes for the cover and only a 2 count. He seems frustrated and goes for another pin, but once again only gets a 2. He picks Cara up and sets up for the Code Blue. But as Kidd flips him over in the air, Sin Cara somehow turns in enough time to reverse into a Hurricanrana. He rolls Kidd up right after and picks up the win. Daniel Bryan's music hits the PA and he makes his way to the ring and is handed a microphone.Everyone watching knows who I am. You all know what I'm capable of, you all know how good I am, and you all know that in order to take this Intercontinental Championship from around my waist, you're going to have to kill me. Here recently I have challenged anybody that thinks they can beat me, to step up and do it. In my last three matches I have faced top tier talent in the WWE. Christian, a former World Champion, tapped out to me. Tyson Kidd, one of the best in this company next to myself, and he tapped out. Last we have Justin Gabriel, one of the best high flyers in the WWE, and guess what? He...tapped...out. So here is where I lay out the challenge again, except this challenge is a bit bigger. You see, I need an opponent for WrestleMania. So here's how I see it going. I challenge any former Intercontinental Champion to a match at WrestleMania. And by anyone, I mean anyone. It could be Christian, Shelton Benjamin, Kane....or hell it could even be my mentor, William Regal. I don't care who it is, because I can't be stopped. If you think I can be stopped, then you're more than welcome to walk into WrestleMania and shut me up. Take my title, prove me wrong. I just don't think anyone can. And trust me, that's not me being arrogant....because when you're as good as I am, you don't need to be arrogant. MY name is Daniel Bryan, and I look forward to your challenge.Match 4Singles MatchChristian vs William Regal William Regal once again proved himself a top competitor as he had a great match with Christian. Christian had the upper hand in the early going, but after Regal dodges a Flying Headbutt he took control. Christian started to get back up and Regal hit him with a Knee Trembler. After multiple maneuvers Christian found it in him to use what energy he had left to hit Regal with a Dropkick - knocking him into the ref. He went for a Clothesline but William Regal ducks and quickly grabs the brass knuckles, knocking Christian out with the Power of the Punch. He shook to referee and pinned Christian and gets the victory. The camera cuts backstage where Josh Matthews stops Jericho to ask for his thoughts on Wade Barrett.Wade... Barrett? As in the pathetic hypocrite who I made the mistake of mentoring on that crappy NXT show? I'm not going to make an elaborate speech on how I am better than him, or how pathetic he is, or anything else for that matter. I'm simply going to kick his ass, because I am the best in the world at what I do.Main Event Number One Contender's MatchChris Jericho vs Wade Barrett Both men brought their A-game in an amazing match. They fought as if it were a title match. Lots of big moves, and a lot of reversals. At one point, Barrett damn near took Jericho's head off with a Big Boot. But Jericho came back on into the match with a Springboard Dropkick. He hit the ropes and connected with a One-Handed Bulldog. He worked Barrett down for some time, but he came back with a European Uppercut, and then a Powerbomb that swept him off his feet. Both men down til an 8 count. Jericho gets back to his feet first and grabs his legs - setting up for the Walls of Jericho. Barrett kicks him in the gut and gets back up. He grabs Jericho and sets up for Wasteland! But he slides out and plants Barrett with the Codebreaker. He crawls to Barrett and goes for the pin, then gets the 3. Jericho celebrates his victory on becoming the Number One Contender. But suddenly someone runs from the crowd! It's Orton! The Viper slides in the ring and stalks Jericho. Chris turns around and Orton attempts the RKO, but gets pushed away and out of the ring. Orton grabs the back of his head and backs up the ramp. He holds his Championship up in the air as the screen fades to black.

Raw Supershow Monday, March 26 Last Raw Before 'Mania.
The show kicks off with a special Raw Supershow video, featuring clips from Raw and Smackdown events. The announce team mentions some of tonight's agenda such as US Champion Alex Riley in action, Drew McIntyre taking on Colt Cabana, A special edition of The Cutting Edge as Edge returns to interview Chris Jericho and Randy Orton, and the Contract Signing for Alberto Del Rio vs CM Punk at WrestleMania.
Opening Match Tag Team Match Kings of Wrestling vs Worlds Greatest Tag Team
A great match this was with two of the most talented tag teams in the business. The Worlds Greatest Tag Team took the upper hand at the start of the match with multiple tags in and out. Haas hit a German Suplex on Claudio and went for a pin. 2 count. As Haas argued with the ref, Claudio snuck in a tag. Hero runs in on the hot tag and Clotheslines Haas, then Benjamin. He runs back to Charlie and brought him down with the Hero DDT. He goes for a pin but only gets a 2 count. The Kings of Wrestling took control of the match. After a long, drawn out bout, Haas fought with Claudio ringside, while Benjamin won the match with a Superkick to Hero to pick up the pin.
A vignette is shown featuring Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder preparing for their final battle at WrestleMania. Clips go from Curt preparing by using Trent Barreta as a practice dummy, to Zack working out his arms by spiking his hair. Then from Hawkins benching weights, to Zack working his fingers out while he Tweets. 2 competitors, 1 winner. Who will become The Ultimate Broski?
Match 2 Singles Match Kofi Kingston vs Alex Riley
Kingston brought his A-game with his first appearance on Raw this year. He held is own against the Champion until he missed a Crossbody from the top rope. Riley took advantage of Kofi while he was down. He took control of the match for some time, then proceeded to Irish Whip Kingston. Spinebuster on the rebound! Just as he was setting up for the pin, Drew McIntyre came running from backstage. He hopped up on the apron, but Riley met him there and went face to face. As he has his attention on McIntyre, Kofi sneaks up from behind and goes for a School Boy. He gets the 3 and slides out of the ring.
Right as the match ended, Drew quickly got in the ring. He ran at Riley and the 2 started throwing lefts and rights, brawling in the middle of the ring. McIntyre caught him off guard with a kick to the groin, bringing Riley to his knees. He nails the Scott Drop on A-Ry which left him out cold on the ring mat. McIntyre heads up the ramp mouthing 'Wait 'til Sunday..'
Match 3 Triple Threat Match Ted DiBiase vs Justin Gabriel vs Tyson Kidd
DiBiase and Kidd both attacked Gabriel at the start of the match. After Kidd threw him out of the ring, he was hit from behind by Ted. DiBiase steps back and goes for a Clothesline, but Kidd moves and throws him out of the ring. Kidd leaps up on the top rope and does a Springboard Clothesline to ringside. The ref starts to count, but all 3 make it back in by 6. Tyson is the first one back up. He targets DiBiase and does a Running Headscissor Takedown. Gabriel makes it back to his feet and does a Hurricanrana to Kidd. The match goes on as all 3 take and give up control. Later on into the match, Ted is down and Gabriel is on the top rope. He prepares to take off for the 450, but Kidd leaps and does an Enziguiri, dazing Justin. He heads up top to go for a Superplex. But in the time it takes him, DiBiase gets back up and grabs Kidd's legs. Kidd flips Gabriel over with the Superplex as he gets Powerbombed off the top rope by Ted. DiBiase picks Kidd up and nails Dream Street. DiBiase is victorious.
Match 4 Singles Match Drew McIntyre vs Colt Cabana
After Drew's scrap with the United States Champion earlier on, he seemed to be intent on winning this match. But to his surprise, Cabana was followed to the ring by CM Punk. Cabana had the match in his hands as Punk was there to help out. Throughout the match, Punk found ways to give Colt leverage. He grabbed McIntyre's feet as he hit the ropes, causing him to trip. He got the ref's attention when Drew went for a pin. Finally he pushed things too far and was barred from ringside. As Drew had his attention on Punk leaving ringside, Colt grabbed a steel chair. He slid back in and went to attack McIntyre with it, but instead got a Big Boot with caused the chair to hit him in the face. The crowd went wild after the chair shot. Drew kicks the chair out of the ring and goes for the pin. 1, 2, 3! McIntyre gets the victory.
As the superstars head backstage, Otunga and McGillicutty headed to the ring to call out Grotesque. They announced that they pulled some strings and their championship match at WrestleMania is now a ladder match!
Match 5 Singles Match Rey Mysterio vs Sin Cara
This was a very fast-paced and entertaining match. Both superstars nailed a lot of aerial attacks and kept the crowd on their feet. The action went back and forth throughout the match. At one point, Mysterio threw Sin Cara to the ropes and Cara did a front handspring and rebounded with an elbow. But he missed - Mysterio ducked it and did a Springboard DDT off the ropes. He went up top for a Body Splash, but Sin Cara rolled out of the way. He picked Mysterio up and went for his finishing maneuver, but Rey landed the flip. Cara ran at him but got his knee Dropkicked, causing him to land on the ropes. Rey hit the 619 and then a Frog Splash off the rope to win the match.
A replay of Daniel Bryan's speech from last week is played. He is said to still be looking for someone to step up. I guess we'll see if anyone accepts at WrestleMania.
Match 6 Singles Match Sheamus vs Wade Barrett
Both men came out brawling in this one. Barrett, coming off a recent loss on Smackdown gave it his all against Sheamus. The match started off clean with a a few Headlocks and reversals. Sheamus caught Barrett on the rebound from the ropes and locked him in a Headlock. Shortly after he started bashing him with multiple forearm clubs to the chest. Barrett pushed Sheamus away and fled outside the ring to recover. Sheamus chased after him though. He beat him down and threw him back in the ring. As Sheamus was getting back in, Barrett had already made it back to his feet and knocked Sheamus off the apron with a Big Boot. Barrett took control outside the ring until a 9 count. After they returned to the ring, Barrett went for Wasteland, but Sheamus reversed with a DDT. Sheamus took the upper hand for the rest of the match up until he went for the Celtic Cross. He lifted Barrett up and started to run with him, but Wade slipped out. But Sheamus quickly turned around and delivered a Brogue Kick then went for the pin to win it.
The Cutting Edge
As The Cutting Edge begins, Edge thanks everyone for their cheers. He talks a bit more and is interrupted my Chris Jericho who claims he is the star of the show, and says the crowd would rather listen to him than a has-been who can't even compete anymore. Jericho runs his mouth, then he is the one who gets interrupted by Randy Orton. Both wrestlers are in the ring and Edge can finally ask for their thoughts on the match and who should be champion. Jericho once again proclaims he's the best in the world at what he does and should be holding the gold. Orton responded by saying 'Best in the world, huh? I thought you were Moongoose McQueen, not CM Punk. To me it seems like the so called best wrestler in the world should be holding at least one of the many Championships the WWE has to offer. Which one of those do you have again?' After that, Orton had little to say on the match. He just assured Jericho that at Wrestlemania, come hell or high water, he would still be wearing the gold when it's all said and done. The Viper held the title high as his music hit and he went to the back.
Main Event Singles Match John Cena vs The Miz
After what Miz said before about being a top talent, he attempted to show what he's really made of. He may have fought dirty, but he proved himself by giving a top competitor like Cena a beating. He attacked Cena from behind as he headed to the ring. He threw him into the steel steps, and then the barricade. He finally slid Cena into the the ring to officially start the match. Right away he went for a pin but only gets 2. Miz picks him up and throws him to the corner. He attempts a Clothesline but Cena moves and Back Drops him to the mat. Cena heads up the turnbuckle and nails a Leg Drop to Miz's neck. He goes for a pin and only gets 1 and a half. The match went back and forth; both competitors attempted their finishers but couldn't quite nail it. Finally, Cena hits the ropes and drops Miz with 2 Shoulder Blocks and a Spinout Powerbomb. The crowd gets riled up as Cena sets up for the 5 Knuckle Shuffle. He leans down to taunt The Miz but gets poked in the eye and swept off his feet. The Miz makes it up before Cena who is having a hard time seeing. He back into Miz who finishes the match with the Skull Crushing Finale and a 3 count.
After the main event a vignette is shown featuring CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio clips over the past month. After it ends, the camera goes to the ring where the mat is red and there is a table and 2 chairs in the middle of the ring. Triple H stands beside the table as CM Punk's music hits. Punk heads down to the ring and relaxes in a chair as he waits for Alberto. Del Rio's music plays but he doesn't come from backstage. Triple H and CM Punk look confused. His music plays again, but is interrupted as the camera goes backstage. The cameraman runs behind EMT's and other officials. Alberto is out cold and lying in a pool of his own blood. The EMT's tend to him as the camera goes back to the ring. Punk picks up a mic, shrugs his shoulders and says:
Well, it looks like I have no opponent for WrestleMa-
Punk is cut off as the lights in the arena go out, and a bell sounds. The crowd erupts and the lights come back on. The Undertaker stands before Punk on the opposite side of the table. Punk's eyes get huge as 'Taker wraps his and around his throat. The Deadman lifts Punk up out of his seat and into the air, then Chokeslams him straight through the table. He picks up the contract and signs his name. 'American Bad Ass' by Kid Rock hits and The Undertaker raises a fist in the air. He stares at Punk as the show fades out.
