With that movie Paranormal Activity out, I've been hearing this description thrown around constantly. I dont know, i havent seen it, so i cant judge it, but i really cant think of any movies that have legitimately scared me, aside from some jump scares n all that.
So my question is to you, what is the scariest movie you've ever seen?
If i had to give an answer, I'd probably choose Jacob's Ladder, some good psychological horror

Can't really say any movie has ever scared me shitless. I do remember one time after watching the movie Blow starring Johnny Depp, they showed an actual picture of the George Jung character he plays at the start of the credits and I was basically sitting right in front of the tv and I almost fell out of my seat. He was pretty creepy looking.
I've heard mixed responses about Paranormal Activity. This chick I know says she couldn't sleep alone with her lights off for about a week, and she's 17. Lol. Other people just said it was dumb. I still wanna see it though. The Fourth Kind looks badass too.

Just saw the Fourth Kind in theaters and it was probably the first movie in a long long ass time that i found really unsettling, had a pretty clever gimmick to it using "actual footage" along side the real movie. Much to my disappointment though the actual footage and most the facts given were entirely made up. Does based on true events have any meaning anymore?

Nope Alex, it doesn't mean anything! Haha! Okay, I'm gonna reveal a little secret to you guys, I hate, HATE scary movies, but my friend made me watch a couple and the one that scared the living shit out of me was Slither.

Slither is freaky, yet hilariously awesome.
if you want a scary, unsettling movie, watch Splinter. The monster things in that are the most out there, scariest ones out of any movie, in my opinion.

Slither was quite possibly the dumbest fucking movie I've ever seen.

Just saw Paranormal Activity yesterday, the first half was pretty boring, but once it got going it was really well done, not the scariest movie ever like i heard, but some pretty freaky stuff, especially the last 15 minutes

i don't get scared with scary movie i actually laugh at them at time but the greatest horror movie i seen is most definitely paranormal activity
the guy made the movie so realistic and finding out the guy based it on a true story just made it 10 time better

Based on a true story means nothing anymore.
Another movie that sincerely scares me is The Ring.

The 2007 theatrical version of Paranormal Activity had a weak ending, the 2009 version has a better one.
