So, my Papaw just bought me an acoustic guitar. And if anyone here plays guitar, I was wondering what you think the easiest Shinedown song to learn would be. I already know the basic chords.

I don't know any shinedown songs but if you've never played guitar before, come as you are and polly are really easy songs to learn.

I've played a little bit. It's been a while, but like I told Josh on MSN, I am from Kentucky. And my papaw is a hardcore redneck, so the stuff he tried teaching me is like Bluegrass Country shit. But anything like Nirvana or Shinedown is good for me.

Country stuff is actually very good to learn. If you're going to go on to be a lead guitarist and/or play Metallica solos and stuff you NEED to know your blues scales and have a knowledge of blues-themes, because Kirk uses the blues scale in every solo.

My twin plays guitar in the top ensemble at our school, and he started with Good Riddance by Green Day, I don't think he listens to Shinedown.
He hates country as well, but he learned blues and classical scales as they help him alot with technique, speed, skill, and flexibility in what type of music you play.

I have several guitars. I have a black/cream BC Rich Warlock. A Washburn Lyon Gothika signed by Paul Stanley. Mines silver. What's cool is that there are 1313 made, and I have the 666th one. A fairly cheap acoustic guitar. I can plug it into an amp and it has an in-built tuner though. Good for beginners. And my last guitar in working order is my Ibanez. It's my metal guitar. It's covered in Nirvana and Metallica stickers. I have a few others that I use for parts/strings/etc.

I love that your guitar looks high tech. Looks like it could be an Apple iGuitar.

tbh I hate the lights and shit, but it's the best sounding one that was in my price range and the body and neck are specially designed.
