Anyone reckon Punk's dropping down the card already? I mean, since he wasn't even arsed that Del Rio beat him supposedly, and more focused on Nash/ HHH and had no notion of wanting the title back? S'how it came across to me. Still watching mind you.

I want Del Rio to hold the belt for a good 4 months before dropping the belt to Cena so it can go into 'Mania with Cena/Rock for the title. Punk doesn't need the title to be relevent, he is HUGE over, Del Rio needs it more than him. I like where Punk is heading.

Actually, tbh, I'd rather not see Cena vs. Rock for the title for a few reasons. - Rock and Cena is already a main event match and doesn't need to have a championship to go with it, plus, it allows a second Raw main event match that is for the championship, filling up the card with more top-tier matches - It makes a Cena win obvious, as we all know Rock won't stick around after Mania, so why would you put the belt on him?

Yeah I agree Rock and Cena doesn't need to be for the WWE title. It's a big enough match in its own. I think Del Rio should go into mania as champion against the royal rumble winner, the winner preferably being someone who hasn't had a big moment or mania match yet such as Kofi Kingston. A nice card for mania could be
The Rock vs John Cena
WWE Championship Alberto Del Rio vs Kofi Kingston
World Championship Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan
The Undertaker vs Chris Jericho
Steve Austin vs CM Punk
Throw in the MITB match possibly and one or two other matches

Kofi for the WWE title? No thanks. If 'my boy D-Bryan' won the WHC i'd poop myself. Punk vs Austin would be awesome, but i just don't see it happening.

Rock/Cena needs to be a title match, because lets face it, they are the focal point of the show, and nobody will give two shits about the title matches, because everyone will be talking about Cena vs. Rock.
Who says Rock couldnt win the title at Mania and have a one/two month reign before passing the torch onto somebody who actually needs it? Imagine Del Rio or Christian or someone going over The Rock for the title at a PPV?

IMO, this should be the WrestleMania XVIIII card.
- The Rock vs. John Cena in a No Disqualifications Match - The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho - CM Punk vs. Triple H - Cody Rhodes vs. Daniel Bryan for the World Heavyweight Championship - Alberto Del Rio vs. Randy Orton vs. The Miz for the WWE Championship - Evan Bourne and Kofi Kingston vs. ? vs. ? (Two other tag teams that form/re-form in the next 7 months) in a ladder match for the Tag Team Championships - Christian vs. Sheamus for the Intercontinental Championship

No DQ isnt needed. Thats a match to further a fued. They just need to have an epic 15-20 minute long regular match. Taker/Jericho would be completely useless. Theyve faced so many times in recent years and neither are active or have ANYTHING at all to gain from it.
The random tag match sounds boring too, thrown together tag title matches dont help anything or serve any purpose. Also, REALLY? Bryan/Rhodes for World Title? No, just, no. I really like both, but Bryan is HORRIBLE on the mic and has no personality, and until he improves upon that he will not be a World Champion or main event 'Mania. Rhodes is a possibility, but he'd need a good 4-5 month push and a match to go over an established star at 'Mania (Orton? Christian?). If Sin Cara pulls it together, I'd love him vs. Mysterio too.
The only decent matches you suggest, imo, is HHH/Punk, which is obvious. I'd much prefer Punk go over Austin, though. None of the other matches would draw a dime, and are definitely not epic or 'Mania-worthy.

None of the other matches would draw a dime, and are definitely not epic or 'Mania-worthy. Jericho and Taker have only faced once in a one-on-one match ever. They had a triple threat and faced in a tag team match during that period of time (Survivor Series 09), but apart from that they have hardly ever faced. Plus, I'm pretty sure Jericho could make the feud work. Daniel Bryan has stated he is cashing in his Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania, so I'm just going by that. Also, I chucked the No-DQ stip in because somewhere, I feel Mania needs to have some sort of street-fight esque stipulation match, they're always fun to watch. Completely forgot about Cara and Mysterio, I'd definately add that. Plus, Rhodes has already gone over Mysterio at Mania, and is one of the hottest acts in the WWE at the moment, the only logical step forward is the World Championship picture.

Personally, I'd have Nash eventually team up as Punk's bodyguard. Punk/Nash could fued with HHH. Shawn Michaels could get involved a little (not wrestling, just promos and backing HHH up). Eventually it would lead to Triple H vs. Punk at Royal Rumble with Stone Cold as referee to keep Nash/others from interfering, with Triple H winning. Punk could get in Austin's face and get a Stunner, then bitch about it for weeks. Austin could fire back and they'd have a promo war/arguments/scuffles leading up to Punk/Austin at Mania with Punk going over decisively.

Jericho/Taker would be a good match, for sure, but what do they have to gain? Taker goes over Jericho and nothing changes. Jericho goes over, maybe has a short run and leaves again? Doesnt set up anything for the future. I'd love Rhodes vs. Taker. Imagine Rhodes' promos, saying that how his old mentor Randy Orton couldnt beat Undertaker at WM, and his old tag partner's dad was the one responsible for bringing 'Taker to the WWE. Rhodes could even enlist Million Dollar Man as his manager in the leadup. Would be great for Rhodes to go over, or even have an awesome 20 minute 'Mania match with 'Taker and lead to him main eventing more PPVs.
What I meant about Rhodes was that a World Title match against Daniel Bryan @wm would be completely underwhelming. Both are very good wrestlers, and Rhodes is good on the mic, but they are missing that momentum and star power to really make the match pop and seem like a great WM title match. At this stage, it would just be filler leading up to Rock/Cena.

Id love to see Bryan v Rhodes for the title, yes both guys would need to gain there star power up immensly for the actual hype up to the match work but i cant really see Bryan facing any one else other then maybe christian for the belt.

Spoilers below for anyone that cares.
I don't understand why they gave Bourne and Kingston the tag titles when night of champions would have been a better choice. They could have had Otunga and McGillicutty retain by cheating tonight and then had Bourne and Kingston win next week on raw for a second chance at the titles for night of champions and then have Bourne and Kingston win at NOC
