Now that we've passed the half way point I think it's safe to say this season has been fucking phenomenal. I liked season 2 but this season is where the juicer stuff from the comics is coming into play.
Before the season aired I was nervous about some changes it looked like they were making from the comics (ie: Andrea being in Woodbury, the Governor being a much more subtle evil-fuck) but now that I see what they're doing I'm liking some what they've done in the show even more.
My only complaint is that I wish AMC didn't give so much shit away in the previews, like this mid-season one.

I've loved this season. Michonne is just as kickass as I expected after reading the comics. The Governor is a lot different than I expected him to be. I expected him to be more erratic and wild judging from the comics and the novels.
Also, on that note. I purchased both of The Walking Dead novels (Rise of the Governor and Road to Woodbury) to read in this break.

I've been playing The Walking Dead for PS3 as well as The Walking Dead Assault on my iPhone during the mid season break and it's been awesome. Also been trying to start over reading the comics. Can't wait for the second half of this season.

Yeah, Governor is really gonna be evil now. I still find it crazy that him and Rick haven't even had a confrontation yet.

Yeah true, im looking forward to it. The novels are quite good too. Theyre a backstory on how The Governor became The Governor.

Is Road to Woodbury about the Governor as well?
I just got some of the newer trade paperbacks for the comic: We Find Ourselves, A Larger World, and Something to Fear. About time i got caught up on the comic, I've yet to start reading them though I'm re-reading the older comics first.

Finally got around around to reading those books, and yeah things are really picking up. Before this I was really getting tired of the safe zones storylines, but I can see now that it was building to something really cool with this Saviors storyline.

Hell of an ending to the newest episode, but for the most part a lot of filler. Feels like the past two episodes were really just moving characters around for the inevitable big clash of the two camps.
My only complaint is I feel they're going overboard with the visions of Lori. I loved the bit with the phone but Rick chasing a spectre around the prison is a little much.

The visions of Lori are the only aspect of the recent season that I don't like. It is very campy though. It seems like it should pick up in the next episode. I wonder what's going to happen with Merle.

Love that it looks like they're going with Merle redeeming himself.

Love that it looks like they're going with Merle redeeming himself. They'll probably go with the usual bad guy redeems himself before getting killed thing. It seems like it always happens in movies or television shows haha
