I don’t catch TNA much recently but I knew of the ECW run-ins that have happened in the past few weeks so it peeked my interest to watch it this week (im a huge mark for the old ECW, even if these guys are past their prime). It turned out to be a pretty classy segment honouring the ECW guys and Dreamer gave a good speech on his feelings on WWE’s “ECW” brand. In the end it was announced they would be given a reunion PPV similar to the old One Night Stand PPV, renaming Hard Justice to HardCORE Justice. With talks of Paul Heyman coming to TNA, I think this has some pretty good potential. TNA PPV buyrates have apparently gone down the shitter, and even though an ECW reunion isnt exactly a new idea, with proper hype and booking I think this could be a success.
Thoughts?

I love the original ECW, I'm a huge mark for it. I feel like there's only so much they can do with the ECW reunion angles to make me watch though. It'll bring in the ratings for sure, but unless they bring in Sabu, Sandman, Taijiri, and possibly Shane Douglas, I probably will just read results or watch the matches on YouTube.
Have a link to Dreamer's promo though? I'm interested.

Tajiri and Super Crazy have already been ruled out because of comittments in Japan. I'll watch this, even though I haven't watched TNA since 09. I too am a huge mark for the old ECW, even if it isn't what it once was.

I don't really get all the ECW reunions. Whilst in ECW, these guys are always feuding, have matches against each other, and are portrayed on screen to hate each other, but when they see each other again in later shows, they are best of friends? I never really understand how the writers and bookers can get away with doing this sort of thing, over and over.

It's not a fully kayfabed thing. The old ECW crowd knew it was fake where as the WWE kids dont. Because they know its fake, they know most of the guys were best friends, and it was there living, taken away from them.

I’ve heard Sabu has had some serious back surgery, but I’m sure he’ll at least make an appearance at the show (listen to the crowd chant his name out of nowhere) he’s been in and out of TNA in the past similar to Raven. I’d say Sandman is a good possibility too, most these guys are working the indies right now and would probably jump at the chance to join in on this.

Awesome promo. And yeah, Sabu does have a steel rod in his back now, so he probably couldn't do much, but he deserves to make an appearance at least. It sucks that Joey Styles can't be there to commentate. That would make the show that much better. I don't think there's anyone else really that's in WWE right now that should be at this show, everyone from the original ECW seems to have moved on to TNA except Rey Mysterio, but screw Rey. Jericho doesn't scream ECW to me.
I hope they can get Heyman at least.
I'd like to see this PPV trump the One Night Stand in '05, I really do. Especially since Van Dam can wrestle this time around.

If they do get Heyman in time, I think him and Taz commenting would make a good team, but I agree it wont be the same w/out Stylez

Heyman IS supposed to be there. He was meant to be at the show when Dixie first announced she invited them. But he couldn't make it because something came up.

Well. I'm guessing they could bring in people such as; Tracy Smothers, Guido & Mamaluke, Al Snow, The Dudley Boyz, Psicosis, Shane Douglas, Spike Dudley, Steve Corino, the bWo, Justin Credible, and Mikey Whipwreck. Honestly,

Justin Credible would be awesome to have show up if he's still in shape.

Didn't Whipwreck get a job as a trainer at WWE or something?

Justin Credible hasn't been working the indies much as far as I know, Spike Dudley has been working around here in South Eastern Massachusetts/Rhode Island. Justin Credibly was at an event with Spike maybe a year ago or so and he was in the same shape he was when he was in the WWE.
@jc, why would they need to 'bring in' the Dudley Boyz? Team 3D already works for TNA.

If The Impact Players turn up with Dawn Marie. I will watch TNA every week for a year, even though it's that shit. Get me Storm, Credible, and Marie and I am TNA's bitch.
