"The final days of Chris Benoit will be re-told in a new big screen 'biographical thriller', entitled Crossface.
SRG Films have bought the rights to Matthew Randazzo's book Ring of Hell: The Story of Chris Benoit and the Fall of the Pro Wrestling Industry, to retell the wrestler's story, whose career and life ended in a double murder–suicide.
Sarah Coulter has already written the first draft of the script, which is expected to begin filming late next year. Talks are underway with potential actors and directors and the film already has an IMDB page.
Coulter says, "People immediately point to steroids, never thinking about the brain trauma these wrestlers can, and do, incur in their profession, nor do they consider the rigorous schedule that keeps them working even when they shouldn t be. The Benoit story is one that needs to be brought into the light."Source: www.lordsofpain.net/news/Movie_On_Chris_Benoit_Double_Murder_and_Suicide_Announced.htmlUmm... what.

Saw this in Caws, and there's some pretty contrasting opinions about it. Some people say it's sickening and that everyone should boycott it, and the rest say that real life murders/crimes are made into movies all the time, so what's that different about Benoits?
Personally, it's the 'biographical thriller' part that worries me, but I'm not gonna judge until the trailer comes out.

What Splasher said is true. There is films about Gein, Bundy, Gacy, Manson, the Zodiac and numerous others. I personally don't see why there shouldn't be one for this. Now I'm not saying it is a nice film to make, or that it's a good idea, but I personally don't see the need for a boycott. I'll probably end up watching, just as I've watched the films I've mentioned.

I'm not worried that it's about Benoit, I'm worried that it's going to simply focus on the negatives of his actions and blame it all on the professional wrestling industry and VKM. Plus, as Splasher said, "biographical thriller" isn't exactly giving me a sense of documentary, it's going to be highly stylised and such.
