You, uh, realise that that is what Cena is told to say? Its the writers fault for making him one-dimensional. Cena is one of the best on the mic, and one of the most charismatic in the company, theres not really any way to deny that. Yeah I think people forget that the writers pretty much write everything he says, with maybe the exception of the stuff he goes with off the top of his head. Such as the old battle raps he did, and when he was allowed to have more freedom to be himself on the mic back on smackdown. Yeah, but it's not just what he says, it's how he says it. The fact the he ended every promo screaming was just way over the top for me.

They are meant to be larger than life characters, and he is undoubtedly the superhero of the company, so of course he is going to go over the top. Look at his "retirement" speech, or 2003-2004 promos. He is one of the best, most charismatic talkers ever, up there with Rock/Austin, and before anyone disputes that, remember they were less limited by both writers and the rating of the show.

I like Cena, to be honest. He has some good wrestling skills, but I just can't get behind him because he can't lose cleanly. Even Undertaker can lose cleanly, but Cena is Superman. But anywho, his promo work can be very good, but it can also be pretty crap and cheesy.

You cant get behind him because "he cant lose"? Once again, writers fault not his.

But the fact he is written as superhero for the kids means I can't get fully behind the character of John Cena. If he went back to his early pre-soldier gimmick, I'd be 100% behind the guy. But now, his gimmick, as much as the guy is awesome, leaves me inable to fully support the guy.

"he cant lose cleanly", "Cena is superman", "can be cheesy". None of this has anything to do with Cena, the wrestler. How the writers use him is irrelevent to his skills on the microphone or in the ring. John Cena THE WRESTLER, is great on the microphone. Full stop. End. Not trying to put you down or anything, thats not what im trying to say. I'm just putting it across there, that you can't get behind Cena because of the writers not him.

A character is made by the writers. I can't get behind the character of John Cena because how the writers portray him. The wrestler, when not written as a five-move Superman is great. But as five-move Superman, is not, and this is contributed to the writers. I never said it is Cena's fault, I just said the way he is as a character isn't as great.

True, true. I hate that people say he can't wrestle, when he is told to be superman. If you watch his early matches, including vs. Bryan Danielson on Velocity, he can actually go really well.

He can wrestle... very well. He is just written as "Five-Move Superman".

I'm not too crazy about this idea, but I do kinda like it. Gotta see how it plays out before I judge it.

When will WWE creative realize that CM Punk doesn't need a team to back him up, as he is one of the heels who can realistically win a match cleanly...
