Eh. I'm not a confident writer. This is my first song I've written and have only showed Cane and Gav. I got good reviews from them and thought i'd see what people here thought.
I Look Back
By Christopher Brown
He sits their all alone,
Waiting by the phone,
He just feels so wrong.
It may not be his time,
But he won’t be denied,
The wait is so cold and long.
He listens to Hendrix and Cobain,
Plays them over and over again,
The time flies by on the wall,
He tries to wait it out for your call.
He thinks he’s bigger and better than he is,
And you were always trying to tell him this.
Now he takes his life on this cold dark day,
And now you’ll never have to see him again.
And I look back, I see all the trouble that I left.
And I look back, I saw all the problems that were there.
And I look back, and I watched you walk out on me,
And I look back, it’s only now that I see.
And you get your wish,
The end of this,
He disappears,
From all your tears,
Fuck all your dreams, your hopes and pain,
He thinks he’s got nothing left to gain.
He couldn’t take this shit anymore,
He keeps seeing you walk on out that door,
You left him with heartbreak, and a loaded gun,
He grabs it and away he runs.
He takes that gun, points it at his head,
He lies down, on the wrinkled bed,
He says it’s your fault,
He says you were the one,
He tells you one thing thing,
Before looking at the gun.
And I look back, I see all the trouble that I left.
And I look back, I saw all the problems that were there.
And I look back, and I watched you walk out on me,
And I look back, it’s only now that I see.
His time is up,
He realises it now,
He turns to the clock, and then turns back around.
Your face is white,
As you look on in pain,
You realise that you’ll never see him again.
He pulls the trigger,
You watch it all,
And now you wish, you gave him one little call.
The pain is over,
You don’t have a choice,
Now all you hear is his emotional voice.
And you look back, you see all the trouble left,
And you look back, you see all the problems that were there.
And you look back, and you see yourself walk out on him,
And you look back, its only now that it all begins.
He was the one,
The one you loved,
The one you kissed,
And the one you hugged.
The one you now miss,
The one you cry for,
The one keeping you up staring at the door.
You want him to walk on through the gap,
And shouting your name, begging for you back,
But every thing’s over.
It’s done for good, it’s true.
And you wished you had told him.
“I love you.”
