They need to fucking learn how to make video game consoles. I just got the red ring of death, in less than a week of getting it back. This makes the fourth time i've gotten it within less than a year. I don't even do anything to harm it. I keep it in well-ventilated areas and stuff and I still get the two red lights supposedly from overheating.
They're supposed to be sending me a new one within the next few days, but if it breaks down i'm giving up on Xbox 360.

Yeah I'm on my 4th and I take care of my consoles so I'm sure it's not you. It's just poorly made, the thermal glue inside is on par with really cheap thermal glue so it tends to liquefy easily. Hell this time around it wasn't even because the console was on, the Playstation 3 warmed up the area behind my TV and that cause the thermal glue to melt. Which I thought was odd since theres about 2 feet of space for the 360 to ventilate...I would've thought the PS3 would meltdown first.
No matter, my console is on it's way back so I'll be back on Live soon. (It's been a month so...needless to say I'm eagar to jump on Halo.)

Lol, I almost removed you off my friends list cause I figured you jumped off of the 360 ship and onto the PS3 one. Oh well, I've decided I'm gonna put a small fan behind my new Xbox just to be cautious. I heard newer Xbox's are less likely to break down which is good.

Yeah they fucked up with that, badly. They should offer some sort of apology, like free 500 MS points (along with the free repaired/new console), but they are losing shitloads of money with all the RROD anyway.

If it was up to me, I would've already sold the piece of shit. But my mom's making a big deal about it 'cause it was a Christmas present. Oh well. I plan on sending a note along with the Xbox saying I would prefer the Elite as they are said to have a minimal chance of getting the RROD, also a free month or some ms points. If it breaks down again I'm gonna be pissed though, this Christmas will be the end of my 2 Year Warranty meaning I cant get it repaired for free anymore. Cheap bastards.

Tell them nicely that its happened to you several times and you have missed out on xbox live while it was getting replaced, so you think you should get a free 3 month card or something.

Thats what i plan on doing. Being rude to the ppl that are gonna give me a free xbox will get me nowhere.

When you get it repaired they generally give you a free one year warranty, no? Otherwise I would've had to pay for 3 of my 4 repairs.
But no I'm not 100% on the Playstation 3 bandwagon, actually the second my Xbox 360 comes in I'll be back on Gears of War 2 like an addict and probably on Modern Warfare 2 as well.
